Nobody remembers anymore that Wii even has a Virtual Console service, but even as it lies on its deathbed Sega can still find more games in the Wonder Boy series to release for it at exaggerated prices. Today, for just $9 each, you can purchase the arcade version of Wonder Boy In Monster Land and the Sega Genesis game Monster World IV.
The latter is actually a pretty special thing: The final game in the series, it was never released outside Japan before now. Sega has actually gone back and translated the ROM – something that I wish had been done more on Virtual Console. Oh well.
I have taken the liberty of updating, for the final time, my post about all the many, varied Wonder Boy games on Virtual Console. For all of the classic games that never made an appearance, there sure are a lot of games from this obscure series! In fact, there are actually two of each game, for different platforms.
