SEATTLE — Penny Arcade Expo, as compared to other such conventions, is quite low on vendors. That’s by design: Gabe and Tycho only allow a certain small elite group of item sellers into their expo, lest it become some ratty flea market.
Pink Gorilla handles the modern games, Sweet Kitty (of the famous P-A strip) sells the anime goods, and Billy Galaxy and Y-Bot split a booth to sell retrogaming delights, from games to classic plush Donkey Kongs (above).
Anyway, it’s time to participate in this year’s edition of What Bad Game Do We Make Kohler Buy, in which I give you a choice of two probably terrible videogames, and you vote in the comments for which one you want me to purchase. The game with the most votes after I decide to stop counting will be the winner, and I will go buy it — then play it and talk about my pain.
Your choices for this year are below.
Yep. On the left, we’ve got Bandai’s Gilligan’s Island for the NES, a bizarre choice of licenses if ever there was. Apparently it’s some sort of… adventure game? Maybe? Don’t know.
On the right, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends. Know even less about this. It was “recommended” by Frank Cifaldi, who’d know a bad NES game if he saw one.
Okay, have at it: What will be the manner of my death?
