Forgot to mention that an ESRB listing of games that have been submitted for ratings includes Sega classics* Sonic the Hedgehog* and Ecco the Dolphin. Joy! Finally we may have a decent Sonic game on the 360. Granted, we have to time travel backwards about 16 years to get it, but whatever.
As happy as I am about the idea of Sonic coming to the Arcade, I’m even more excited about Ecco the Dolphin. It was such a beautiful and unusual game; it didn’t really feel like anything else on the Genesis. Swimming through the underwater environments, tracking down the members of Ecco’s pod was almost serene at times…until you started running out of air, of course.
*Ecco *is available on the Virtual Console, too, but I think we need a next-gen *Ecco. *I’m tired of all the cool lighting and realistic physics going to gritty, depressing environments. How about something beautiful for a change?
