Merry Christmas!
My family knows better than to buy me video games for Christmas. Mostly. Christmas is the time when they stop just outright telling me about their good thrift-store finds and start wrapping them up and putting them under the tree. This year was no different; probably the most surprising gift I got was a Donkey Kong Game and Watch. Probably the most common of the US-released Game and Watch toys, but still super-awesome.
My brother went onto eBay and got me a Famicom-shaped alarm clock that plays the Dr. Mario “FEVER” music when it’s time to get up. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I feel like I’d rather have this next to my bed than the boring, non-Famicom alarm clock that I’m using now. Plus, “FEVER.” Who couldn’t get up to that?
And finally, here’s a stack of Atari 2600 games. They actually called me while they were at the store to check which ones were any good; I instructed them to leave behind the ET- and Amidar-infested pile of ultracommons and grab the above. One of those is actually quite hard to find, although I forget which.
